new booster pump fitting problems
« on: March 11, 2013, 08:00:15 pm »
fitted one of these today before our ionic static system

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cbm240e-1in-multi-stage-230v-booster-pum?da=1&TC=SRC-booster+pump

problem is the outlet hose from pump to static system is 1 1/4" so we tried reducing pushing garden hose into the pipe and jubilee clipping it with two jubilee clips, however the pressure is too much and is blasting it off

whats the best way to deal with this please as i need water now for tomorrow

Go to your local plumbing suppliers and tell them what you want or take the pump with you, they should be able to supply you with some threaded reducers

There was a post on here recently with pictures on how to do it.

Take it to the plumber's merchant.  Or just take the big threaded black plastic tube with you - it's the same thread (obviously) as the pump but a damned sight lighter.  Explain exactly what you want to do and they'll have the fittings.

My fittings were about £9, IIRC.

You won't get fixed tonight, I'm afraid, so you'll have to return to the state you were before putting the pump in.

Hi Rich,

The internal thread at the pump outlet is 1".  You need a 1" to 1/2" male to male reducing bush then a 1/2" tap adapter.

My system uses 1/2" John Guest tube, so instead of the tap adapter there's a 1/2" bsp to 1/2" JG push fit.
