are omni pole the best option for this type of thing?

I have an Omni, its expensive but does do the job. I also have a giraffe (generic yellow) which is my usual long wand and has done many hours - cheaper but shorter.

Anything over 30' I'd say get it done off a boom.

I use the omni pole with the u bend and a zero nozzle to unblock swan necks of guttering on 4 storeys - 5.5 hp straight on the customers hose and a very nice earner even at my low prices

Yes but I would only use it for short periods - you could never wash for any time anywhere near that height. There would be two of us

Yes, 48 foot does seem a bit high, although if your just spiking gutters it's not to bad, I'm in the market for one at the minute as my girraffe snapped about 6 month ago, never got round to replacing it, snapped whilst I was trialling one of the wall washers on it. It worked great on cladding/soffits/ exterior gutters with just a fan lance or turbo on, although did get a bit heavy after a while with the legnth of it stretched out on an angle

Omni pole recommend a support pole working above 36', which requires a 2nd person to use.  Do any of you do this or not?

I've not got that - just a thug to help. Third storey is enough sensibly when doing gutters if there is any sort of growth but I now use carbon tubes on the vacuum

How are they keeping Carl? They'd get bashed about in our van.

I keep all the gutter gear in the tow van during the winter unless we have a pressure washing job in which case we swop the gear about. The carbon tubes are kept in the box they came in and apart from the one I cut in half are all in good condition. I always suck a bucket of water before I take them apart which cleans the inside nicely. I have the fishing tubes bought from a forum member
