Something that amazes me is that it seems common to sell your accounts in UK. In the USA this is almost unheard of. Window accounts are kept secret, we rarely want another service to know that we have such and such accounts. Do you have your rounds (accounts) in firm service agreements to the point that they can be sold off?

Probably the main reason for selling up in the U.K. is probably down to the British winters.

If it was a month or 2 duration i think most w/c who have got out would have stuck with it, as window cleaning in the summer is really pleasant.

When you 'lose' your hands on a daily basis for about 4 or 5 months, the job becomes less pleasant, the job also becomes a lot more dangerous as well!

Many W/c over here try the trade, then hit the winter, then try to sell their round to a more hardened individual once they experience the effects of the cold!

Everything is sold by an hour rate or the rate of charging by the pane. Most cleaners try their best to average $20-$25 an hour after taxes, labor and supplies. Panes of glass are cleaned US anywhere between $3-$6 per pane. Some conditions highrise, or new construction can go anywhere from $10-$15
