« on: March 01, 2013, 04:00:37 pm »
bit random, all the above vans are basiccally renault engines,my orange light keeps coming on when im climbing any hill
ive got the vivaro high top 53 plate, had it diagnosed by vauxhall then got my mechanic to do work as vauxhall wanted to charge more than vans worth,
he has done everything on the list, glowplugs, ecu unit seems ok,transducer, cleaned all the pipeage etc
its beaten him,my next move is to go to renault and try there diagnosis
has anyone on here ever had the problem?? when the light goes on it puts the vehicle in emergency mode so engine is debilitated
been going on forever,help!!!

I had a similar problem withmy vivaro and had to take it to vauxhall to put on the computer and it turned out it was the turbo sensor playing up and cost me £150 for about 10 mins work !

Was worth it tho just to get it sorted.  I always find it is actually cheaper to go to the dealer with these problems as they have the diagnostic equipment and are clued up straight away with the fault.

I had the exact same problem last january! after taking it to the garage and they telling me it needed a full service and after doing the service and taking nearly £400 off me it did it again soon after leaving them ! this time I just rung the AA They put the van on there Scanner which showed the Cam sensor! the aa man put me new one on, think it cost me 28 quid and its been fine ever since
