Hi guys I have 22 double white faux leather suites (leatherette) fixed upholstrered sides, arms, seats and backs. not really dirty but greying mostly on arms and seats. I have been told to use white vinegar/water not overwet- dry with towel and polish up afterwards. Its in a big hotel I do. they want me to demo one of them and if improved complete all 22 plus 74 board chairs in the same material.
Question: how would you do this and what products would you use.

Hi William,
We did a faux Leather sofa a few weeks back which was filthy (used as a bed for a clients 2 red setters) Did it with our "dry Steam" machine so no chemicals and was barely damp when we finished - it came up a treat, colour restored and the nap like a pool table where you could write on it with your fingers.
Dry steam machines have their limitations but are great for upholstery.

faux leather or faux suede?

if it feels like 'leather' basically a plastic then I would use a microsplitter, light spray, light agitation then wipe clean.  if like  bill suggest and it has a nap finish then it may be a 'buffalo' which is a faux type material which responds well to normal HWE

is it smooth and shiney or does it have a very fine pile?

Hi Mike they have a smoothe finish in white very solid units the seating areas have a grey hue probabbly from clothing I have thought of a micro splitter also went into the LTT leather web site and they say clean in the same way as real leather, do not overwet and in stubborn areas aggitate with a soft brush. Doing the trial tomorrow.

And Mr Moss they will be fantastic as all my work is but thank you for your offer!!!

William what i would do as your test is mask off an area then clean that only and that will look a lot cleaner even if all dye transfer isn't removed the difference should be good enough for them to book you for the lot.
