I have just shook on a deal to rent a valeting bay for 12 months.

Its something I have been contemplating for a few months, so i have decided to take plunge.
Come on Malky give us a few tips.

Cheers Arthur.
Its something I have been contemplating for a few months as I have a young lad who works for me and is mustard at car cleaning.
I have had a bit of experience at valeting in the past, but I dont know whether to just offer a car cleaning service or a full valeting service.

Yet another iron in the fire Gary, Just a few questions is it under cover, what equipment do you have, have you a supplier ,how big is the bay, have you a good location traffic wise i.e. Main stret site or back street, that will do for now i've just got in from work myself so will get back to you tommorow morning.

The bay is fully enclosed and will take a van comfortably.
The yard bit outside has a covered canopy.
Its just off a main road.
In my shed somewhere I have got a Henry hoover and Numatic wet and dry and I have got an old Kew hot and cold power washer..
There is no equipment included its just a bay a yard and an office.
But I have thought about just doing a standard car wash, mini valet sort of thing.

Cheers Ged, I cant help it.
I get an idea in my head and I go all out to get it up and running.
But I think it will kill two birds with one stone, I need premises to store my machinery etc, plus now I will getting an office which I suppose I am going to need.

Hi Gary, I typed out a replie this morning but it was so long the computer timed out and I lost it all  :(, most likely rubbish anyway, when does your new venture start then, get it in writing once bitten, know what I mean.
Hope all goes well in your new venture. 8) wash /  Mini valets would be ideal for a start up, when you take on full valets you can loose one of the bays for up to 3 hours at a time. I beleive foam and rince washes are the way ahead for a quick turnover. Only my opinion though.

Sorry to put dampers on it.

Have you checked Planning Regulations

Water Costs

and Regulations regarding disposing of Water.

Have you negotiated a low rent for First Two months while you are getting started.

It was previously a valeting firm so no planning apps.
I cant really argue the rent as there is 2 bays a yard and an office security gates and steel roller shutters..
My mate who runs a vehicle recovery services is going to take the office for half the rent so that cuts down the rent.
The rent is very reasonable.
