motorised floor scrubbers instead of pw'ing??
« on: January 22, 2013, 04:37:02 pm »
Ignoring the obvious price difference between our setups and these machines how do you view these scrubber machines in terms of the clean results compared to pw's. i guess you could down size I know you can get the push along variety .

advantages= less water, less area to cordon off, less noise, lower overheads (if push along machine) any more??.

disadvantages= may need a variety sized machines to tackle steps etc, will it clean as well pw's, can't do vertical surfaces, what about undulated surfaces??

maybe only good for extended flat areas only, any ideas and thoughts ??

I use machines like these sometimes for indoor work like warehouses & Shopping centres.
Used a ride on scrubber for an underground carpark where the ceiling was really low.
They cant really clean oil patches etc.
Theyre ok for removing builders dirt & dust, but You need to sweep rubble up before running them over floors.
The squeegees get clogged with small objects sometimes, and you have to stop to clear them regular or dont get an even clean.
Like you say, they cant do stairways.
Theyre ok to use in certain conditions, or to do a large area, & finish off with a pressure washer around stairs/walls/pillars etc.
Outside work, i would rather use a pressure washer.
