Well the main roads are back to normal now, however the work i have to do from Friday is out in the sticks.

May have to skip them a few days as i doubt the roads will have been gritted.

Glad i've got plenty of work local to me and not too far from the main roads.

The back end should not step out if going the correct speed in the correct gear.

Pick-up trucks are known for that if they have no weight in the back at a minimum I have 150kg in back , and have managed fine.

When bmw owned Landrover the 4wd system was not great now it is far superior . Depends on driver and vehicle older Freelander not that great and range rovers with big wide wheels are almost useless .

You have got to have a decent set of tyres  . Mike

Ok , thought you meant landrover as in defender.....
Have had a defender or discovery 1 for 26 years.
Low range diff lock engaged will drive on sheet ice
Yes it slides about a bit , it's 2 ton of metal , but take it slow
And use gears not brakes to stop.
And I promise you these cars will cope with more than you.

Totally the right advice their Tompoole we have an L200 Trojan and currently have it in 4 high and it manages fine even fully loaded with 1/2 a ton .

Slow and steady gets you about safely. Mike
