Not being funny but there was nothing in front of his van so he could of parked much further up his drive or am I missing something ???
I know he said because of building work but he could have moved up at least a couple of feet.

yes, you are missing the big hole next door adjacent to the rest of his driveway, had he parked further up it the driveway could have subsided due to the ground next door missing  ;) :D
Anyways besides the point, what a dumbass jobsworthy that traffic warden was.

Only on his word. How do any of us know where the van actually was when the ticket was issued. Half of it could have been sticking out on the road. The picture in the paper isn't the one the council took. Parking regs are there for a reason, why is everyone always so keen to diss the people enforcing the regulations.

I was in pub (because of the non existant snow you see, ahem) today directly opposite a 20 mins parking bay. Builders van in it before I got there and still there when I left 90min later. Warden rocked up, ticked the van. While he was doing it some guy appears, starts filiming the warden on his phone, tells him is is both a w****r and a twat and walks off. Nothing to do with the van at all!! WTF?

In the picture he could have moved forward at least a few inches and not got anywhere near the building work and still save his ass from getting a ticket but he obvioudsly is too ignorent,it's hardly an Eddie Stobart truck and trailer he was driving, serves him right if he gets a ticket as double yellow lines are there for a reason and not just for his benifit for cars not to block him in.
I am always considerate not to park over these lines as they are there for a reason but obviosly not for this guy,by going public the nation probobly thinks he is the w****r AND NOT THE TRAFFIC WARDEN,so lets be fair and stop kidding yourselves,he broke the law therfore needs to pay the price or are all that disagree with me that ignorent too not to see this ??? ??? ??? ..........be realistic guys  :P

I'm convinced that the newspaper needs to get better reporters. If this makes a national paper, then maybe they should employ journalists who have a degree in Journalism and not a degree in home economics.

The bloke is happy for any advertising by the look of it. Good luck to him, but the newspaper editor needs to be sacked.
No still don't understand, I must be thick

I agree that parking laws are there for a reason and should be upheld. In fairness though it looks like the yellow line is broken and Im sure that makes the ticket unenforceable. There is no pavement to obstruct and were first put down to give the householder access to the parking.
I would have asked him to move the ladders off the van or turn it around as that is more of a hazard, but then the wardens are not targeted on common sense .
