Streamline 300gpd upgrade
« on: January 08, 2013, 07:50:28 pm »
Have a 300 gpd streamline system, producing about half a litre a min  pump and 1.2 litre a min waste.

What's best move

Change flow restrictor from 1:3 to 1:5?
Add a 2nd membrane? And in series or parallel?

Something else.....

Not to sure if you could add another membrane, on the ro's that use the 100gpd ones you can only use 3 of them making it 300gpd.

What's wrong with it anyway?

Seems a bit thirsty on the waste water and slow. Probably ok once i get ibc tank running. thought as it is a single 300 new type membrane should be possible to double it to 600 and speed it up and reduce waste

No, 300 is 300.

I use a 200gpd and that produces nearly 950lts in 24 hours.
Every 1lt of pure it makes 2lts of waste in made.

Have you a pump on it?

Sorry Richard but you're wrong, it is a maximum of three membranes, they could be 100 or 150 or 300, as long as they are all the same and the restrictor is matched eg 3x150= 450= 450 restrictor.
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.

Oh right, I did say I wasn't sure,

With pump on input after pre filters it is producing 30 litres an hour that's 720 a day, suppose that's ok, cost wise that's about 1.8 cu l a day which is about £8 on metre,

Was think inking adding another membrane would create less waste water, it currentlly has a reading of 14 out of membrane, 255 as water in and 362 for waste.

How's these figures?

Input pressure is crap here .. 2 bar...

Urs should be making more than that a day, around 1363lts a day. mine is smaller than urs and making more water.
What price is ur water on a meter? Mines £1.25 per 1000lts

My water in is 450ppm and 12-14ppm before resin, not sure what waste is.

Running off garden hose, it's a single membrane system...  Water including waste is about 4.34 per 1000 litres

Seems strange then, I got garden hose to ahead, then it goes to a 5mm pipe into ro.

I had the same problem as you. I bought a booster pump from Freedom and also I fitted a tap on the waste to restrict waste output and water production improved. Tds 001. :-*

a tap to the waste, what does that do?
