Push Fit T's
« on: June 29, 2012, 04:27:14 pm »
Hi All
Anyone know where I can find an adaptor, preferrably 1/2"  push fit T  (John Guest) with either a 1/4 or 3/8 female thread to screw in a  pressure gauge.

Thanks

ebay, you may need to add an adapter to get down to 1/4 thread

Hi Lee.

I got one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brass-3-way-T-Piece-Connector-1-2-BSPT-Male-2-x-1-2-BSPP-Female-/310540389750?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D4435643913095711982%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D140763329787%26

The male threaded into the filter housing which is 1/2" NPT and sealed fine with ptfe tape.

The gauge had a 1/4" male side fitting so used a 1/2" BSP to 1/4" brass reducer

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRASS-BSP-REDUCING-BUSH-FITTING-HEX-NEW-VARIOUS-SIZES-/190582532934?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&var=490029779732&hash=item2c5f9aab46

Ptfe tape worked fine.

The outlet I used JG 1/2" fittings

http://www.osmotics.co.uk/products/John-Guest-Straight-Adaptor-1%7B47%7D2%22-NPTF-Thread-1%7B47%7D2%22-Tube.html

with

http://www.osmotics.co.uk/products/John-Guest-Tube-to-Hose-Stem-1%7B47%7D2%22-ID-Tube-to-1%7B47%7D2%22-Stem.html

The adapter wouldn't seal in the BSP threads of the T piece, so I mixed up some araldite and glued the threads - no problem now.

I used the stem to hose adapter as I was using 1/2" plastic hose.

This was what I wanted to do, but I was using 2 gauges and £50 + including postage was too expensive for me, considering I got pressure gauges for £2.50 each.

The prices shown are without vat, so that needs to be added on, but if you spend £5 or more before vat, postage is free, a

i have seen these, but it needs a female thread not a male as the pressure gauge has a male thread, do you have a solution for that  ;D
