Got a customer who has a hardwood floor in the kitche, that has through time become dull. Is there anything that can be done to make it shiny again, a novice can do?

Pledge. (Not)
What kind of finish does it have lacquered or oiled?

If its not worn through the lacquer you can clean with a neutral cleaner and red pad then apply Bona Freshen Up.
Just be careful not to over wet when cleaning. If it has been sanded and finished not so much of a problem as a Pre-finished floor due to sealer being down the sides of the boards.
