How much does your van make?
« on: February 05, 2006, 06:57:20 pm »
Following on from the debate on van sign writing, how much do you reckon your van signage has made in the last year?

I reckon about a dozen jobs or around £900 (dosent include referrals or repeat business).  Not great and thats why Im asking the question.

My van is just name number and list of services.

Hi mark
Well if you have a right logo and clean van which stands out(eg:PEPSI sign) you will be surprise
how much income you can genrate out of your van.
I am sure that we have 20-30% of our income from our van and sign, beacuse we always ask our
Customers where they heard about us.

Hi Guys,

About £380 in 5 months , not great but then quite a few others have taken cards etc , so I'm expecting this may grow.

Then there's the imperceptibes , confidence when turning up , building a brand which will be saleable in the future etc

Cheers

Doug

Not sure of the exact amount, but it is free advertising and will get you jobs,I have had calls saying I am following your van and would like a carpet/house cleans.
I was parked outside the local bingo hall waiting to pick up the wife and collected a nice 300 squid job just by sitting there doing nothing,it works.

Thank god its not just my wife that goes to bingo!!!!! ;D
It`s not just about advertising........ If you had a gas man come to install a boiler and he turned up in a plain white van......... no name........ no numbers...... no badges....what would you think????    First impressions LAST. Also some referalls start off with your van parked on customers drive. Not all customers will brag about their CC but a neighbour may spot the van and say how are your carpets??? Couldn`t help but notice the van !!! Customer would sat "great, so and so did a really good job !!! " Then you get a referall without realising its the van that did its job. Make sense?? That few hundred quid on signwriting can pay dividends very quietly

Yes I totally agree. I have white T shirts with logo on ( see left ) full size on front. Many a time gone in butty shop and ladies behind the counter as about prices or asked for a card and sometimes they`ll ring to book a survey

i think for the cost af sign writing its a very good return, if u keep a van 5 years say  and sign cost £200  and as mark says he gets £900 in a year  thata nearly £5000  £4800 profit , whats our return on £200 of leaflets ? ive had people phone me in me van as they are driving behind me to make booking, took bookings filling up with fuel, etc etc in the summer time i recon i take 4 bookings a week  of me van no probs  ,i earn lot more than £900  a year of mine

each to their own I understand but I work exclusively for designers and they use me because I dont have sign writing, obviously other reasons too......i average over 800 pounds per job so feel i would never advertise on my van......
