I've got a pair of gortex army boots from my local army surplus - £25
Had them a year now and feet still dry!

As far as boots go they are fairly light, and nice and warm. But would still like them lighter, perhaps should have got shoes, rather than boots  ???

These are the boots I wear aswell.

Great boots, havnt let in any water yet, very light too.

I paid £30 for a pair in early December, reduced from £99.99. Such a cracking deal I bought myself 2 pairs.

Highly recommended.

I got myself a pair of North Face boots last year in the sale, they are Goretex lined and the most comfortable boots I've ever owned.
Like slippers, but with laces   ;D

I have been wearing these for the past month they are very waterproof (gortex) and very cheap they also have better grip than walking boots that are meant for fields and get slippy on hard surfaces.

these are the nuts , good ankle support, really warm , waterproof, good grip etc etc.
i never ever skimp on boots for work , i am in them more than my best footwear.

my last pair of salomon 3d gtx at £125 lasted me 18 months and wore them 5+ days a week...
