May be a stupid question but my SLX is in perfect condition and my staff's CLX is showing signs of wear. Both poles started work the same day! Is it my staff member treating it badly or just that Carbon fibre is a lot stronger than 50/50? Would be really interested in your thoughts.
If that is the case why don't we just by the SLX as it will last longer and ultimatley be cheaper.
The CLX pole range is 50/50 Carbon Fibre/Glass Fibre. As Glass Fibre will wear quicker than Carbon Fibre, the CLX will generally wear faster than the SLX which is 100% Carbon Fibre - including the handle section which although being carbon fibre as well (unlike most of its competitors) has a thin insulative layer on top.
Having said that, a lot of wear is down to the way the pole is used and cared for. Therefore some users will find that their CLX poles last longer than other clients SLX poles. However if being used by the same client in exactly the same way I would expect the SLX to easily outlast the CLX.
The most economical choice is actually the SLX as it will last longer (up to 70% longer) and whilst it is doing so it will usually allow you to work faster thereby earning money more quickly with less strain on the body.
The CLX is great as an entry level pole, but many user/chooser clients will then upgrade to an SLX when they next need a pole.
