could anyone advise me on best microfibre to buy and were is cheapest place ,  we always used scrim but going to give microfibre a go . regards

I do at moment mark but got to move with the timed so going to try micro fibre to see how it goes , I find scrim not as good as it used to be it starts to rot

Personally Jay , i find micro is best for insides , but i still prefer scrim for outsides but some others will say different , each to their own . But YOU know , i love my scrim lol

i find micro cloth ok for detailing windows, but was never keen on cleaning leaded windows with it, you cant beat abit of scrim, or this cloth http://www.windowcleancentre.co.uk/productdetails.aspx?ProductID=140&SectionID=49     its cheap to.    .j.

i still use scrim occasionally, are you using pure water to wash the scrim as i found it rotted very fast if using pure, as for microfibre i find the best i have used are fish scale microfibre from paragon i get them of ebay

When I was 100% trad I found the scrims that rotted were ones made of cotton.

The best scrim is made from hemp. The way to tell the difference is to try and rip the scrim when wet. Well used cotton tears quite easily. Hemp is stronger when wet than it is when dry and is very hard to rip.

Also, hemp scrims wear out, they don't rot.

I used to use scrim for the frames and microfibre for the glass and detailing. I tended to buy Unger microfibres as the quality was always good. The best place to buy any microfibre just requires a search of cleaning supply places via google.

Thanks some good advice , no Trevor I just use normal water but what I put it down to is being water fed the scrim is lefed a while inbetween use so stays damp
