WHAT ARE THE + AND - POINTS OF USING A BACK PACK.

HOW LONG ARE THEY LIKELY TO LAST

I have had my one for 4 years and still going strong. I use it as a back up and also for some places were a 100 meter hose will just not work. I also apply diluted ecover when needed on say gutters.
I only problem I have had is the wiring on these unit are crap so have rewired mine and put in a larger battery unit. Its basically a portable van system.

When you compare how relatively little they cost against most the things we buy in this job you won't regret a penny of it

I've had a few, 2 shurflos which were a disappointment and expensive.
WCW yellow much better but coming to the end of its life now.

Very handy bit of kit for hard to get to/single jobs. I moved to a trolley system but am currently looking at getting another backpack. I like the look of John hewitts 20 litre jobbie. On a trolley and only £95. Gardinerswfp backpack seems to get good reviews also.

Hi King did you use the  backpack on your back or trolley?

I use shurflo they are expensive and to be honest I rip the wiring out and put in my own
wiring and button but I feel they are the best if using on your back and the  straps are way better
than anything else I have tried If your going to put on sack truck go for john hewitt.

I ended up just carrying the backpack around with me by the handle (WCW) or the straps (shurflos), no trolley. Never used it on my back, could see it being a strain all day.

The wiring and switch were rubbish on the shurflo, agreed.

John hewitts is getting my vote at the mo. don't need a controller, just use a tap on end of pole so will probably rule out gardiners at the mo. and the new WCW ones seem to have issues!

The backpack is a strain on your back and shoulders for the first couple of weeks
but if you persist its worth it speed wise myself and two guys i work with use
the backpacks on our backs.

nice handle on the wcw backpack .easy to carry .tips if u buy one

 1 .take off top so u can see the battery ,put some vasiline on terminals .if u got one put a plastic container over battery ,( like a plastic sandwich container .)this will stop water getting on terminals .and stop them rusting off happened to me twice .untill i done the above .
 2.undo nut on the outside of controller n put in waterproof sealer .then do nut up .
3.when u put 6 scews joining top n bottom put sealer around join to stop water going inside ,
the old yellow ones used to have a rubber seal .

I use backpack on my back. Why get a backpack to use as a trolley??  I feel it just over 2 3rds and have no issues with them giving me grief or pain.
