Just moved into a property with a water meter.

Obviously using a RO system will use more water than normal. Whats the cheapest option

Use what I use and pay the bill ? or

Contact my supplier, explain the situation and ask for a possible cheaper way to produce my water

Do suppliers give you different options if you are a WC ?

The water company will then subtract that amount off your sewerage, and calculate the bill accordingly.

That is exactly right..... it costs 50.00 for the meter and £40.00 for the plumber to install it ( unless you do it yourself)

Meters cheap on ebay, just like the water meter fitted to our house. We have three months before they start charging. Dont forget if you have a meter on the RO supply you can calculate the cost and claim it on the tax return.

I was told this very thing, but if you travel inside an area your still using thier drains so they charge for it (anglian water) I think they are con artists myself, but such is life.

Moved myself 6 months ago and just had 1st bill, only gone up by 10.00 month( was expecting lot more). What did surprise me was the usage, 149 cubic metres which is 149,000 litres!
