Working latter because of weather
« on: September 18, 2012, 06:58:45 pm »
Just a quick question i would to extend the hours of my working day because the weather this year in scotland has been dismal so iwould like to make the working day longer and that would give me the scope to drop a few days because of the weather i dont know about any where else but it tends to pour in the morning here and sunny in the afternoon so i am just wondering what is the latest it is acceptable time to clean ressidential houses

Agreed... 5pm last job on residential
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

sandy, come the depth of winter it is pitch black by 4pm, so I pretty much don't work past that time anyway

Why not ask a percentage of your customers what they would be happy with? I would say the "normal" hours would be around 08:00 to 17:30. But last year one of my customers made me think when she said "why not work until 21:00 in the summer and cut down the number of days"? I asked wouldn't she mind someone cleaning the windows into the evening and she replied "why would I"?
Ask them.

Yes i dont usualy work past four but an extra hour or two would stop me working short days because of the weather last year i found the depts of winter better than the summer this year if i worked an extra hour and a half for four days this nearly makes up a whole day a week before anyone suggest i put the price up its not about the money its about giving a good service

longest ive worked on domestic is 815pm on my first day WFP!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

these days im usually finished for 430pm at the latest.

i tend to just crack on in  the rain unless its too heavy then i have a brew in the van or customers house then carry on if it eases.obviously if its really bad i go home.

i work more saturdays if im behind.

best wishes
