You hear stories about window cleaners giving each other stick for being 'on someone else's patch', or reluctant to help the 'competition', but today I encountered the generosity you can find in your fellow peers
I'm new to starting up, I've worked for a windy for a year but recently moved (for a women......I know bad move :p) so decided on setting up. I set up the van, set the r.o up, and left it to produce and spent the day canvassing. I get back and there is barely any product in the Ibc!!!
I decide to leave it over night, you never know, the r.o may need a kicking in period, but when I go to look in the morning it's produced around 200litres in 24 hours....
I ring around and buy a booster pump (pressure too low)but it'll not get to me tomorrow....
Now what do I do, I can twiddle my thumbs for a few days until I can set it up and get enough water or maybe there might be someone who can help...
So I take a chance and ring a windy I've encountered in my 2weeks of moving here (Richard franklin). He's on holiday but passes another guy who may help (paul Trippy). I ring paul and he tells me to go to his house and fill up what I need!offered to pay him something but he replied 'don't worry about it mate, you never know I may need your help one day'!!
Now these two barely know me, in Paul's case didn't even know who I was, and yet he let a guy go to his house who he didn't know to fill up, so he could go and work.
A lot of you guys my not see the big deal in this but I just wanted to tell you all that not all windies can be a**eholes, there are some proper decent blokes out there.
So thanks to franky and paul, it was very much appreciated, and more than happy to repay the favour if ever you need it

Similar story when I started the other month. Only needed a few 25l containers but no pure would have meant letting my first ever custOkers down and possibly losing them.

Those barrels of pure were worth about £30 quid in work which in turn convinced me (and more importantly, mrs h) that this was the right road to travel in our hour of need.

They both helped me out when my van was hit off the road. Trippy had a tank and Franky picked it up for me. Top guys - I never met them before and still haven't met Trippy.

I introduced myself to two shirtless lads the other day, tradding from a nice sign written van, all professional like.

Told me they were gonna get a pole for he odd job here and there but added that customers don't like poles as it rinses all the carp down their paintwork.

I always rinse it down I told them. By the way, how come there's so much carp in he first place?  Of course, their old tradder never cleaned them thoroughly and proper in the first place.

We all laughed like bessie mates. Not.
