Property for sale cleaning price
« on: January 23, 2006, 10:20:02 pm »
Hi
I just wanted to ask if i am along the right lines.
4 Bed property, 2 bathrooms, 1 lounge, 1 study, 1 dining room, 1 kitchen/diner, 1 utility hall, hall stairs and landing.
Fairly clean anyway.
As i have never done a property this size before, I'm a bit lost.
He is selling his home and wants it to be clean for viewings.
What would you charge?
£12 per hour per cleaner? or more?
How many hours do you think with 2 cleaners?

Yes it is a one off. Kitchen isn't greasy, but it is full clean of all the rooms, not oven cleaning though, no heavy descaling. Interior windows and sills, skirtungs, spot wiping walls, cleaning all doors, surfaces, bathroom, kitchen and shower. The lot. It is quite big house

you don't think i'm too far from the mark when i quote £200 for the day. I was thinking 8-6 with our breaks in between. total cleaning hours 8.
2 cleaners. And if they pay by cash on the day 5% discount. i have seen on some websites that prices for this can reach £400, but i don't think I can price it that high in sunny Shropshire.

Yeah I'll mention this to the customer, I was thinking of offering a light clean once per week or fortnight, or when they have prospective new buyers coming to visit, so it's always looking freshly cleaned. I would  charge £40 for 2 cleaners and 3 hours to do this.
Thanks for your input.

Lisa,

I'd charge £200 min. and i wouldn't say i'll be there from 9 til 5 or whatever. The price is for cleaning no matter how long it takes, then when your finished walk the client around and ask if he's happy job done ;D.
The time taken depends on the cleaners for example 2 of my cleaners would knock that out in 4 hrs or 5 tops

i didnt meen tell the client that you would be there nine till five i was just using that time to base ya price on!
after i finish a job i get the cleaner to hand the client a letter and get him to sign that he is happy with the job, that way u have peace of mind that a good job has been done by your staff

lisa,
i have a basic price list on homes, a top to toe clean.  flats are a lot cheaper as they have no stairs etc.

1 bed £150-£175
2 bed £180-£190
3 bed £195-£200
4 bed £205-£210
5 bed £215- £225

these are rough price lists, some propertys are clean some a really grubby, alter the price to suit the situation. i tend never to mention hours. you are committed then.
best saying a flat rate, if it takes you less your laughing, you can leave when the job is done.  if it takes you longer you have allowed this in your price.

hope this helps.

my every day domestic clean of a house is £9 per hour.
if they have more than 5 hours a week i'll charge £8.50 per hour.
but this would only be on a contract say 3 months at at time.

for businesses i go for around £18 an hour.

hope this helps.
