do you clean "2 acacia ave" or
« on: September 10, 2012, 10:39:06 pm »
do you clean "Mrs Jones,2 acacia ave"
In other words is better business to know a lot about your customers,ie Names,Mobile, email etc or jut the address.
Should it be your policy to gather this kind of information right at the start, probably at the canvassing stage,do you log it all down and then input it into your system? or do you simply clean 2 acacia ave?
I have over 330 customers and i really Dont know a lot about them i some times think it may be a disadvantage but then do i need to know about them

thats tonight thought ;D

I keep as little information as possible, address is all I need and what frequency

in fact I don't know half the addresses, I just know where they live ;D which is making it hard to input on the data base I am doing :o

I'm a saddo, I know just about all my customer's names; I've always made a point of memorising them and if I'm shopping in tescos and bump into them, I know their names (usually).

It's a 'friendly' thing innit?

I've also got their telephone numbers and even quite a few e-mail addresses too for those who pay me by bank transfer.  It's dead easy to send a payment reminder by e-mail.

why not have all there details if your a so called proper business, one if anything ever goes wrong, 2 if they owe you money 3 you can up sell other services to them 4 can contact them for whatever reason, 5 so you know whose paid if sending cheque 6 make you look more professional having a database

I agree I just don't make a point of recording it

I like to no all my customer by there 1st name
(unless there really old then I will give them the full title)

1st time I speak to them I take
Name
Address
2 phone numbers if poss
And email

Then I record it all in a spread sheet  and log
How and when paid
Late payer
Not this month thank you
And if they is extra services like gutters/ facials ect
And I mark if the give me a referral

Makes it easy to see who is good custy and who can be
Dumped
keep it simple

I don't think many if my customers would be interested in facials. Freudian slip maybe, thinking of a favourite custy eh? ;-)
