Pole makers dont glue stuff.

All pole makers/manufacturers do not bother using glue to fix bits to poles, clamps etc.
it just does not work!

I keep a roll of proper gaffer tape in the van, and as and when they come unglued I just tape them up. The tape lasts a lot longer than the glue .
if it is dirty it is fair game

we pay alot of money for these poles, surley if a sparkie pay a couple  hundred pounds for a piece of kit he would not be fixing it with tape and glue 6 months down the line. i get sick of fixing poles, when will there be a pole that is made for window cleaning??? rather then a pole with a brush on the end, called a window cleaning pole!!

think youre slightly over exaggerating there mick.  if youre having to glue your poles every 6 months sounds like the problem might be with your technique rather than the poles.  things wear down! just like the tyres on your van etc, it doesnt matter how well made they are, if the material youre using is degradable then things like this will happen

So what do people suggest as an alternative to glue then ?

Havent had ant problems with mine as i wrap electrical tape on the pole to stop the joints banging together
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

I have been repairing poles again this morning, glued and then taped the clamps, sure they won't last long though.

Glued my clamps myself, never had a problem. This was when I upgraded from metal clamps to plastic clamps on my Mark 1 SL-X, which I still use today. If the surface is prepared properly, the clamps should never come off.
