DIY Van Systems on ebay.
« on: January 23, 2006, 08:13:27 pm »
I wish they could do something these DIY WFP systems on Ebay. The 1000 Litre IBC tanks are not Baffled. Then they show Pictures of the tanks in Small vans. Which are not built for the weight. Then at best they show a flimsy strap to hold  the tanks in.
The buyer has no real comeback if it goes wrong. Or the buyer may be glueless once it comes to  van payload weights, Baffleds etc. Not   A major accident waiting to happen. Just Crazy. All for a fast buck.

Watch this space Steve  ;)

I know what you mean though. I've sold 2 systems in the last week to people who bought them. Both of them very quickly realised that all that shines isnt gold.

They have some serious competition on the way froma reputable supplier selling goods fit for the purpose. There are 2 of them having a war between them right now. They are about to be outflanked  ;)

Cheers

Andrew

A very well known supplier said to me once "window cleaners will not pay for quality goods although some think they are".

Remember these are not my words.

Ok, So if that is the case, who is up for paying twice the price they need to. Anyone?

Bit of a paradox really!

Cowboys know this and will always be there to clean up like vultures.
Everyone seems normal untill you get to know them!

i like the jonti ebay ad

950 for a system that you can make for 500 quid

we live in a world where people only want to sell for a quick buck

where are the people who just want to help others for the good of it ?? ?? ?? ??

Matt...
it`s business mate...sourcing a product in demand, buying up in bulk and selling on at a profit...
A bit like a window cleaning round.

you source a product in demand (dirty windows)
you buy up in bulk (building up a round)
you sell on at a profit (your charges to the customer)

You, me, no-one on here cleans windows to do anyone a favour...we do it because it is what we have chosen to do to earn an income.
We COULD go out and charge just enough to pay our bills and put food in the cupbpaords etc...that is survival living and does not provide a comfortable standard of living for our families...so what do we do??
We go out and MAXIMISE profits from the available hours we have in a day in which to work.
The result is PROFIT in any other language...

EVERYONE on Ebay is out to make profit...they have a right to and good luck to them.
No different to anyone else running a business...including us.

All the big suppliers work in EXACTLY the same way in PRINCIPLE...source parts at the cheapest price (whilst maintaining quality) and sell them on to the customer at a big mark up...
A company stands or falls on its profit margins.
I am a single person company and I stand or fall on MY profit margins.
