Owed Money
« on: August 03, 2012, 01:43:36 pm »
I am owed £1,400 by a company for a few jobs. They did owe £3,500 but have been paying instalments now and again, but they keep breaking our agreements. They told me they couldnt afford to pay it all and they either went bust or I accept a payment plan. This has been going on for about 18 months now and I havent received a payment in about 8 months.
What can I do to get my money back? or if I dont get the money, make them go bust?

They are a limited company

Richy

I have been owed money that I knew I wasn't going to get, the second time I kept pestering and got it. The first one I started off with a money claim online and it then ends up in court, I got back half of my claim.

The problem with being the claimant is that the person you are trying to get the money off is within their rights to have the hearing somewhere to suit them and you have to turn up where they decide.

I wouldn't let this go I would be doing it online - they are ping you about and if you can prove that you are owed it and have the evidence then they should be paying it.

Have you got copies of all correspondence, emails, paperwork, invoices, can you say when you contacted them by phone.

I would send a letter recorded delivery telling them you want full payment in seven days or it will be going to a small claims court!

Good luck with it - can be a pain but why should they get away with messing around and not paying.

I hate non payers - scumbags!!

Touch wood I've only had one so far, £200. I did them the big favour of doing the work at short notice then they shiit on me like they did. Company based in Ireland, they got smug about it after months of chasing it. The went bust apparently.
