Sahara sand storms
« on: June 28, 2012, 06:16:51 pm »
Any one else noticed with all the rain the last couple
Of days all the windows / cars a rotten?

Im told its due to to massive sand storm in the Sahara that has
Filled the atmosphere with sand and it's all no coming
Down in the rain!

All the windows I've cleaned last week and this will be worse than
Before I did them !  So  waiting for the odd phone call  ::)

Cheers

Colin

Yes we have it here too but its not dust from the Sahara, its tree pollen from North Europe and it happens most years. People always tell you its dust from the Sahara and its best to just nod.

Dust storm brings Saharan sand to the UK

Many people across parts of the UK have noticed a layer of light dust on their cars or other surfaces over the past couple of days, but how did it get here?

A big dust storm in the Sahara, around 2,000 miles away, is to blame.

We have just got back from a one week holiday in Agadir, Morrocco.

Agadir is halfway down the left hand side of Morrocco and the bottom half is the Western Sahara.

For the entire week, until yesterday there was a haze across most of the sky - due to a large sandstorm in the Sahara!!!

I am sunburnt, even through the haze and when the haze lifted yesterday it hit about 40 degrees Celsius.

Make sure you rinse before brushing or brush will scratch sand into paint work
