hi pressure washing help wanted
« on: June 10, 2012, 08:29:27 pm »
hi lads,

any chance of a little help pricing a job please.

it is 180m2 block paved driveway of a domestic property that i have been asked to clean.

Problem is i'm finding it really hard to price as i have offered to clean the rear patio for free as the couple have helped out myself and my misses.

but they want the front doing now and have asked for a price. me cleaning the rear has more than paid for there help but i still feel awkward giving them a price.

any chance of a little help from some of you guys.

so its 180m2 brick weave so wash and re-send joints. its not really dirty no oil stains or anything but weeds in the joints and clearly dirty when pots and things are moved.

thanks in advance

Mark

Value it by the time you expect it to take you to do. What's it worth to you for your time etc

I know how you feel mate

Done my block paving and my neighbour comes out and asks how much. Never spoken to me in 3 years!! I said just give me £20 for petrol as Its nice to keep the "neighbours sweet" Thought we were buddies when during the week I said hello to his wife and she looked at me like I Just farted.

Cant believe some people. Almost glad my pw exploded on saturday coz now Im gonna tell him I dont do it anymore.

If I was you I would probably end up doing the front for free as well and resenting them for the rest of my days. And thats why I am skint. I know all my mates would have said Its usually 300 so I will do it for 150. :-* but I just dont have the heart/guts/business savvy.

Do it for free and hate them forever. >:( Gits!!!!

BVC.

I would probably charge about £375 - as its a favour do it for £175 call it "mates rates" let him re-sand himself - if he wants you to re-sand £80

you need to be a bit clever with them ;)

search the internet and find some prices pages of other pressure washing companies and print them out,

tell your friends you are having a problem sorting out your prices for the coming year,  you have checked other companies prices and you are wondering if they think the prices quoted by other companies is reasonable ( then show them the printed out prices)

say of course you would'nt charge these prices to them......but it would help if they gave their opinion on what other people are charging.

this stratagy will subtly tell them how much the job should really cost them, so if they say the price are reasonable then say you will knock  £100-£150 off because they have been such a good help in the past.

I would price it on one day one machine to clean. (whatever your day rate is)
then extra to resand

BVC I think you should re-read my post again

firstly the people are not friends

if you want to know facts it is a couple who gave us a garden shed my missus got them of off a woman in an internet gardening forum.

i went round in the van dismantled and took away nice couple asked about pressure washing there patio about 100m2 so as a thank you for the shed I offered to clean for nothing.

my problem now they want the front doing I don't want to rip them off but I can't do it for nothing.

BUT WHO NEEDS FRIENDS LIKE MARK HEY 100M2 PATIO FOR FREE IN EXCHANGE FOR A SECOND HAND SHED
