Royal mail contract

Royal mail are putting out to tender. 1 contract which covers approx 340 properties in the midlands and north wales area tel 07889 692080 for details. Closing 21/2/06.

Hope this is of use, it was in the C&M Magazine.

The tender forms are being published at the end of next month.
Also i have heard it will be a reverse auction.

An auction in reverse ie bidding down until the lowest price is reached .


Dont know what a tender 1 contract is  :P

The areas covered for this tender is Midlands and North Wales area.

Yes, you have to bid on all of them. It is all or nothing.

I hate this nation wide coverage thing. It's a load of cr@p for all concerned. Has anyone who's took the financial plunge to offer it ever kept one of these contracts more than two years running? I worked for one of these outfits a few years back, just doing ASDA's from Stafford to Wisbeach. Loads of work for cr@p money. The gaffer was a dick and it all ended up in a massive bumpfest. Local work for local window cleaners!!

I have often wondered about the financial sense of these contracts. Post offices = bad parking, miles between each job. How the hell do they make them pay. The only way I can see is to sub the work to local guys and take a cut. All that extra admin and hassle. I'd like to hear what Dan Blythin say's about this one. It's near his patch too. And he's all commercial. Dai

I read somewhere that it is 1 contract  to cover all post codes and 340 properties.
