After being sacked
« on: January 17, 2006, 05:34:11 pm »
DOES ANYBODY GO BACK TO A OLD CUSTOMER ( DOMESTIC ONLY ) AT A LATER
DATE AFTER GETTING ( A DEAR JOHN EXCUSE ) HUSBANDS BOUGHT A LADDER,OR ONE OF THE  MANY OTHER EXCUSES.
I MAKE IT A POLICY NOT TO, AND IT MAKES MY DAY WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND I REFUSE.

NOTE NO SUCH PRIDE WHERE COMERCIAL IS CONCERNED
NOT THAT IVE LOST ANY UP TO NOW.

I have returned to jobs like this before - but only at the right price.

It really would depend on why I was 'sacked' in the first place.

If they were a genuine customer who said, 'Look, we're experiencing financial difficulties; even the Sky has had to go', then I'd take them back on when their finances improved.

If they were not good customers and 'sacked' me on some pretence; I'd say 'No', and explain to them why.

I've only ever had this pleasure twice in three years, but really enjoyed it.

Had one during the summer who didn't sack me - but I've sacked her!!

First climb of the day at 8-30 - nice summers' morn....soaped up the first window, and she leans out of another and say's, "Leave it this time, will ya?"
I smiled, politely as usual, and said, "Certainly!"

Descended the ladder and left, closing the front gate.

There's still a sh*tty mess on that window where the muck stuck to the soap, and I've never been back.

She's seen me lots of times since, but never asked me to go back, be a waste of time - 'cos I never will.

She's sacked!

Best reason i was sacked was  because i support west ham ( it was years before i realised we weren't called west ham nil ). Bloke who sacked me was a Ipswich fan we had just beaten them in play offs.

He has since approached me several times  on 1st occasion i said no and as he walked back in his house i was humming i'm forever blowin bubbles lol. very satisfying.

Cheers Mark.

I got fired by a bloke once , he was adamant that i should knock before i started , one of those watch and make sure types !
One day i just got on with it and he came out shouting , i loaded the van and moved on , to this day he still asks me to do his windows every time he sees me , and it gives me an enormous sense of well being to say "SORRY BOSS IM FULL ! "

I sacked one twice. God she is a miserable cow, and stuck up and gobby with it.
I told her to her face that cleaning her windows was stressful. As a parting comment I said "do you know, you make Ann Robinson look like everyones favourite aunty".
This is one posh old bitch, and I thought I'd seen the last of her. A couple of months later she came across and said are you not going to do my windows then?
I looked her right in the eyes. for the first time I saw a hint, a very feint one, of a smile. I had to admire her cheek. At that moment something passed between us. A kind of understanding. I'v been doing them for a year since then and she is as good as gold. Didn't say a word when I put the price up either. Dai
