Tank Lid

While we are on about tank lids does anybody know why some lids are vented mine is my 400 ltr flat tank so i have taped it up otherwise when tank is full water comes out the top .  MIKE

add a plastic bag over the whole in tank but dont cover it fully, cures this problem " dont totally cover it though or the pump will suck the out the air in tank and stop your flow of water (it is also a nightmare to man handle the lid back off)

Thanks ian i have fully covered it with amalgamating tape but will cut to small slits in it now and try carrier bag later when i get home maybe . Mike

I drilled a small hole in the top of my lid and stuck a 12 inch piece of pole hose in it, in a loop.  It means air can get in the tank when I'm pumping water out of it, and I don't get any spashes when I'm driving around.
