LM, Dry fusion etc etc........
« on: May 06, 2012, 08:58:14 pm »
I have been looking at VLM but am wondering about other options particualy Dry Fusion, or Thermadry, or Texatherm.
I have never done any bonneting but I have a slow speed rotary and am going to give it a go. Dry Fusion looks absolutly fantastic but is it really that good in reality? How do the other systems compare? I have read back posts and some say a rotary and fusion clean will give as good results as Dry Fusion is this true? I will be using the system in a mainly domestic setting, I dont mind investing a reasonable amount but I want the best not just the most expensive option. Any comments and help are appreaciated.

Rob

By the way I do have HWE And I dont want this to turn into a debate over low moisture VS truckmount all over again!

I cleaned side by side with dry fusion using my orbital and Pure clean and the cleaning  results were exactly the same. I've done the same with nearly every other bonnet chemical available and I still use Pure clean.

the only thing that gave better results was a cimex and some encapsulation chemical  (forgot which one)

i found  fusion clean utter crap, it was the only time i emptied the sprayer and recleaned with Pure clean

Thanks for the replys,

Do you think heating the pads like on the Texatherm, with boiling water then wringing will have any significant effect or will this just add unnessesary time?

Robin one thing to consider is how you market/sell low moisture I have a thermadry system which i like and have rotored loads of work with just a regular rotor achieving excellent results but find it easier to sell the THERMADRY as the machine just looks better than the rotor( often called a floor polisher by clients)...Regards Alan

Good point.

Thats one of my motives for moving into low moisture, the potential marketability. After all every customer asks " How long will it take to dry?"

Robin i know jason advocate pouring boiling water onto a pad, I can see why in a bad traffic lane a brief shock of a boiling pad would be beneficial but I guess the pad would cool within 1-2 minutes so it would only work for a small area like a traffic lane.

Just an update....

I have now had a go at bonneting and am quite impressed with the results. I used pureclean and a microfibre bonnet on my own very light long cut pile with a twist synthetic landing and bedroom carpet. The normal little spots came out without any effort at all and the process was super quick. I do however feel it is not a deep clean in anyway and really the ultimate clean would be to HWE and bonnet after.

I think bringing it all together that bonneting has its place but I will be sticking to HWE as my main form of cleaning simply because I know its the best possible job in most circumstances. I can't comment on Dry Fusion yet but I cant see how it can be a deep clean from the small bit of bonneting I have done.

Thanks for the advice and I have found what the majority on here say about it to be the case.

Rob :)
