cleaning internal car garage
« on: January 13, 2006, 10:02:53 am »
I have just been to quote for a large car garage for internal and external window cleaning. Externals no problem, can be done with a pole. Internals is a liitle trickyer because of the cars and some steel beams. I was thinking of using the unger visa versa and then using a ladder with a large ladder rest to spread the weight across the glass, so i could tidy up the run-off and ensure a quilty job. Any other ideas? or solutions

They also have a small entrance area, like a with sliding doors and a roof across it and glass above it. I was thinking of placing something across the flat roof, which does have steel beams below it, to speread the weight, so we can access the glass above. If spreading the weight across the roof was the solution, then is there any small access products on the market for this and can you think of any safety implications. all help apprachiated.

I wouldn't put anything on any of the glas, you may well end with a very large bill and no contract

We've got a simailar problem with a 50-60' atrium. No anchor points for rope access work. No double doors for large scissor lift, last time we managed to hire a ladder for approx half way up, but too dodgy for any higher!
We were looking at a narrow scissor lift, and backfliping the rest of a pole extension.
We are also waiting for a reply from the architect on their thoughts of how it was going to be cleaned!
As this is a new build we have no way in finding out how it was previously done - you may be able to do this if it has been cleaned before.
If anyone has any suggestions !!!! too much ££££ to walk away from!! :)

Obviously there is no stairwell, just a vast open space. Still waiting, as i said for the architect's reply!
