Van Racking
« on: January 11, 2006, 06:56:37 pm »
Evening Guys

I have just purchased a new Expert Van which has been ply lined but no racking!!!
Do we know of anyone who sells the racking for these vans, I have tried a few places but the shelving is just not big enough to hold 5litre containers.

Cheers
Darren

Get a joiner to knock you some up in exterior ply. Then you can design it yourself. Ask the van supplier if they can recommend someone as they generally have templates if they do a lot of the same vans.

Got one large rack for my Expert on Ebay.
Paid £20 and cut it down so have shelf and storage over each wheel in back, holds 18 five & ten litre bottles and 2 Solutions CarpetBoxes.

I have hydramaster racking in my van and yes it is very good strong stuff. You should expect to pay around £100 per shelf! Mine was £550 for five shelves.

I'm not entirely happy with mine as the powder coat comes off on the bottom of what ever you have in them and is easily transfered onto carpets (say if you took a spotter bottle in and put it down on the carpet)

Have been promised specialy made rubber mats for them but that was 8 - 10 months ago

Bott ltd. The best racking available. They claim that their racking will outlast the vehicle. It's the same kit that you'll see in Thames water vans/ local authouritiy etc.
Sortimo is another good bet.

See you are very local to me; I use key industrial equipment, very light and holds 5lts containers.

hi jade
Another good place to look for van shelving
and is very cost effective is a van dismantilers
they will have shelves that have come out of damaged vans
at a fraction of the price that you buy new.
Down side is cant always get what you want but well worth a look
if you have one near you.
or you could try some body who deals in second hand vans quite often
they take the shelving out of the van befor selling them.

I use the baskets; do like the other systems out there only problem with them is it takes up floor space and the weight of them only have a small van.

Here’s a picture
