I think you'll find that these are Limestone and thus very easily marked.
I have cleaned what appear to be identical flags to these. I have now cleaned the same lot twice.
The first time I started with the FSC but noticed lines early on so switched to turbo with much better results.
The second time I cleaned them I left the FSC well alone, but still there were lines, albeit very faint. That was after a water only wash followed by a hypo wash.
When wet the lines are 99.9% invisible. I'm just in the process of deciding with the owner which seal he prefers. I've narrowed this down to a couple and am just waiting on one of two samples to arrive so I can perform a comparison / test.
I'll update with verdict / results, when this bloomin weather sorts itself out.

P.S. There are a couple of products that may help if you can't get these back to good (although I haven't used either they have been recommended and samples are available if you contact direct). One is Tensid Limestone Restorer and the other is Net-trol.
