Hose reel for Hot WFP?
« on: March 02, 2012, 10:22:06 pm »
What do you use to stand up to the extra pressure? Ive used a Pure Freedom reel for a year, but the time has come for it to go-its falling apart

Your suggestions and findings would be appreciated

Hi Steve

I use Hannay reels but I think they are a bit pricey mine came with the system over 5 years ago and I think back then they were £230 each. Why not try some of Alex's new thermobore, the hose doesn't expand therefor prolonging the life of the hose reel.

Simon.

Thanks Si

The hose is still fine, just the reel can't take the expansion and the centre spindle keeps pulling apart. Changed parts, but still tries to pull apart

Do you know what reel Alex suggests with the thermabore? On some of the reeks on the site it states "not suitable with hot water systems"?

Thanks Steve

Is that the metal or plastic reel? There's several on their site. Where did you get yours from?

I got mine from gardiners, its called their premium reel i think,
It does say on the site, not suitable for hot,
But ive had no problems & thats using thermobore microbore & streamline microbore, on 2 different reels
