H & S accreditation - which one?
« on: March 02, 2012, 07:58:55 pm »
Hello all,

I'm new on here but have been reading all the good (& interesting) stuff on here for a while, thank you to all contributors.  I've been cleaning windows for three years and am thinking of completing either the Chas or Safe contractor health and safety accreditation schemes as a way of being able to tender  for bigger work ( I'm 95% domestic) and to give myself a bit of an edge over other cleaners. From what I can gather the safe contractor is a bit more in depth than the Chas but then thats only what the lady from safe contractor told me over the phone. Just wondered if any of you folks on here had completed either and what your views were.

thanks for reading,

ngc

Thanks Andrew and RS, I've got to be honest it was the sticker, bit like go faster stripes in the 80's, that got me thinking. I've seen it on other vans and thought it looked the proper job, looked a bit more pro if you like. I also assumed that certain companies would only deal with approved contractors, at least thats what the woman at Safe contractor told me. The cynical side of me did wonder whether or not it was a money making scheme though. Unless anyone else has had a different experience?

I'll do a search on past posts. Thanks again.
