Good job I'm not a sneaky sod...
« on: February 09, 2012, 01:18:45 pm »
I completed job in the beautiful little Cornish Seaside village of Cadgwith this morning. I packed up and drove about a 100 yards when some fella started banging on the side of the van. I opened my window and this bloke said:

"You're early, the house is up on the right. My wife was expecting you at 12 though"

"What house? I've finished here for the day!" I said

He laughed and called me a wind up merchant.

"Seriously" I said "You must have another carpet cleaner booked in!"

"Oh, I am sorry mate!"

"No problem, here's a business card anyway...!" ;D

I could easily have cracked on with the job, but I guess I'm too honest for my own good... :)

I had a similar thing happen...had a job at Canary Wharf, arrived early so sat in the van....couple come over " Are
you a carpet cleaner?" Yes...oh great, see you at the flat, Sorry thats not my job, but he said I'll be in a red van"
They did'nt looked convinced! ::)
"So basically its a big vax!"

Had the same just before Xmas.
Yoo hoo over here number 21 you've come to clean.
No love number 18.
Took me a good hour to do the job.
Apparently he came to do 21 half an hour after me at
1pm.
I finished at 1.30 and he'd been and gone, never saw him.
Went across and asked her if she was happy and she just
said hmmm and shut the door.
