How far do you travel?
« on: July 23, 2012, 07:27:34 am »
My round is currently very compact and all within a 4 mile radius this has taken time to build it up like this however i have recently been offered some work which is a bit of a drive away (abt a hour ish) so just wondered how far other windies traveled?
this work is not decent enough for me to snatch his hand off btw but worth having a think over so after some advice??

Mines within 10 miles,

If its an hours drive away thats two hours per day just traveling. Then possibly collections. If the work isnt decent enough for you to snatch his hand off then i personally wouldnt bother
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

I'm willing to work anywhere, today I am 30 miles away and working towards my home, tomorrow I am 60 miles away, for a all day event.

If it was really good work it might be worth it, but I don't go further than around 4/5 miles at the moment.... Tell a lie, one village with a day's really well paid work, but even so, it is only about 8 miles.

My furthest work is 55 miles away. It comprises a large holiday home (ex-convent) and some holiday cottages which take a day and a half to do.

They are done annually and I stayed in the large home overnight for free, while being fed and watered regularly throughout the day and evening.

The view is stunning, overlooking the Atlantic with the (sandy) beach 30 seconds walk away.

I got a call today from Bedworth (35 miles away),  they found me on the internet, anyway £30 house and it will link in with the stuff I have in coventry which Is only 10 miles away.

Thats how I work, never turn down stuff and link it to something closer until I can build a decent days work up, worked all day in Gloucester today, they have now added  to the contract so now its going to be a 2 day event, for the next cleans, when they finsh building on the site it might even be a weeks worth of work.

The hill up the 62 to Hudds is depressing enough, why does he bother.
