Tsk ...  and you guys are so well behaved on the ' talk clean ' forum .

Hey Colin ... how bout building a Wankel engine powered TM in keeping with your training  ;D

I've e-mailed Ametek asking if there are any  Quality differences between their production plants ...   if they don't reply i will have to wait a few years to see how long Colins £55motor lasted .

I would have thought you'd be the expert when it comes Wankel... ;)

I haven't got a £55 motor, I fitted it for a fellow C/C. I've told him how best to look after the motor to get as long out of it as possible, if it does last years, great... I will happily admit I was wrong... Shame we can't all be like that really....

I Got a brief reply from Ametek  ....

Not trying to prove anyone right or wrong just curious for myself . :)
(and there may well be at least cosmetic differences between models )

My question was along the lines of ...  ( and i included this link )

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ametek-Premium-3-Stage-Tangential-Discharge-Motor-5-7-240V-1500W-/180765040975?pt=UK_Vacuum_Cleaner_Bags_Parts&hash=item2a166fa14f

Is this £55 motor from Ametek's italian plant inferior to the equivalent models from lamb Ametek ( mexico )   i gave the 117123-13 as reference .

Reply was ....

All our manufacturing facilities adhere to same quality standards.  It may be that the Italia motors have a better performance than the Lamb design.  I am not sure about the performance of this Italia motor, but it should be okay .
