Hello, I am a newbie to this site and am in the process of starting a domestic cleaning business.

Just want to make sure I am not forgetting anything really!

I live in an area with lots of second homes and wealthy retired people to I am planning to target these as my customers.  I am going to be charging £10 per hour and offering regular cleaning and occasional cleaning (i.e. when second homeowners return)

I have printed flyers, advertised in the Local Rag (local monthly magazine) and put notices up in local shops.  Advertised on Yell.com, leaflet dropping at the weekend and have a websire in progress.

I have set up a seperate bank account, have public liability insurance ready to go.  I am going to work on my own to start with and see how it goes.

Any suggestions as to what I may have forgotten?

£10 an hour is very cheap. In reality once vehicle serviceing charges, tax, insurance, petrol, consumables, uniform, Accountan fees etc  have come off you will be down to about £6/7 pound an hour and this could be earned far easyer as an employee than a self employed person with the overheads and time entailed.

I would say a minimum wage for aself employed person should be 100 per day.
