Pressure Gauge

I've got a problem with the pressure gauge on my machine. When i start the mc the gauge doesnt read the pressure and when i pull the trigger, the needle goes up to the correct pressure, and when i let the trigger go, it hits zero again.

Not sure what the problem is, there are no leaks and its not affecting the running of the machine, i even changed the gauge out for a new one, still the same prob.

Any ideas?

it may be working fine and only reading pressure when being used, the rest of the time it is by passing the pressure gauge and dumping water back into tank.

That did cross my mind to be honest. So basically, if you have a return valve, the gauge wont read on standstill? makes sense i guess because there is no pressure in the pump.. The feed hose for the gauge comes out of one of the side top outlets on the pump head. i suppose it makes no difference where the feed hose for the gauge comes from the pump?

Right, had a few probs with my unloaded valve this morn, all seems to be working fine now except I'm getting a bit of engine vibration through the pressure hose, and the pressure gauge is reading pressure when the triggers not pulled (as oppose to before when it only read pressure when I pulled the trigger)

There is water getting pumped back into the tank, so the unloaded seems to be working, but it feels like there is still pressure built up in the lines while it's unloading and as I said, the gauge is still reading while it unloads so there is definitely still pressure in the lines.

Should I be worried?

sounds like your unloader valve isnt fully unloading, also you mention that your pressure hose is vibrating this could be the system sucking in air somewhere you will need to find where as over a period of time this can damage your pump.

On the outlet of the unloader is a spring with either a ball or a bullet. These get jammed sometimes. Whip it off and check it.
Also check if it's returning with the trigger squeezed.

Cheers guys,

I took the unloader apart, and made sure there was no dirt or crap in there holding it open, looked ok. Didnt check if it was unloading while the trigger was pulled, ill check.

Just abit worried as it has never read pressure on the gauge when the trigger wasnt pulled, and now it just seems to me that the unloader isnt quite open all the way.. like trevor said. Ill have to get it totaly apart when i get a chance, and make sure its all dirt free..

The things only 3 months old, dual pumps said i can send it back to get it tested free of charge, but thats 4 days atleast without an unloader... >:(
