Sub contractors for shoppfitters work
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:33:57 pm »
Hi Folks, Will poss have quiet a lot of builders cleans after shoppfitters coming up in the new year, problem being that i'm in N Ireland and the work will be all over the uk, the majority of this work is after dry trades and would be for the likes of Topshop, jack wills, banks etc. all good work.

My problem is making it work. obviously it wont make sense for me to travel and do the work, but i need to be able to guarantee quality reliability and still make a margin for myself.

Im thinking of trying to set up a network of good subbies but not sure how to work it exactly

any ideas gents

Hi Seamus,
Can you email me at scotbrite@live.co.uk to discuss. Have mobile teams available all over Scotland. Also the company i used to work for did & still does have the daily cleaning contract for Topshop etc so i have a lot of contacts/goodwill that way,
Cheers,
Ron

Hi Seamus,
I normally go to visit each job site, as i am sure you have found out sq. footage doesn't always give you the full picture but could live with your pricing on footage i would expect. Looking forward to hearing from you,
Cheers,
Ron

Hello Folks, firstly apologies for taking so long to get back to you, have been on a job and haven't had a chance. Im hoping to have a meeting next week with the customer. Thanks to everyone who has posted and i will be in touch. Im still trying to get my head round how will all work, Subing is not an area i have much experience in and even pricing big commercials is still a struggle.

I might have to just fly over meet up with a few of you and go and look at some similar job sites and work out a price structure to base work on. I will be in touch soon with an update.

Been a tough week, need to do another little bit of research on chip shop cleans then knock off for weekend.

Thanks again
Seamus
