Morning Andrew , your 200 gpd does that mean its output is 100 gpd waste and 100 gpd of good stuff ?

If so it would only cost £4 a day in water to run , and the resin use would not really be worth worrying about .

At the mo i use £2 worth of water per day without RO , and the resin costs me a further £3 a day .

So you see ,there isnt really much in it , an extra £1 a day to run DI only , when you think about the cost in buying RO and maintaining it , is it all really worth the change over  ?

I get 600 to 650 ltrs per day of pure out of my RO. And approx the same amount of waste.

Bearing in mind that it takes 24 hrs to get that. It would be faster with a Merlin though.. although at a higher TDS if you don't have to mess about too much to get the amount of life out of your resin and you can produce enough water for your needs your way then I wouldn,t bother with an RO. However all I have to do is turn my RO water supply on and it goes through the RO..then my DI into a couple of 1000 ltr IBCs so its trouble free for me with hardly any messing about at all which is the last thing I want to be doing after a hard days graft window cleaning.

So I suppose it's all down to how easy a life you want mate

to calcalate your resin use divide your tdss tap water into 500,000 the answer you get is for 25 litres of resin. I think this is the right formula,carnt quite remember it nno dought someone will correct me but if Im wrong their is a formula for it.
