Tunnels and opportunities
« on: November 23, 2011, 09:38:25 pm »
This week the port of tyne opened up the second Tyne Tunnel which for us means what was a 1 hour 20 mins  round trip to south of  the tyne for us, is now 5- 10 mins and £1 toll. All day everyday even at rush Hour, so now we have another 200,000 potential homes  within our reach easily.
Anyone else ever had this sort of thing  as a opportunity and any ideas?

Today I crossed the humber bridge which for a long time was the biggest single span suspension bridge in the world,

first time in 10yrs i have crossed it to do a job, always told customers I don't work on the south side. none of the hull cleaners i know  go over the bridge.

it took me 20mins & £6 in tolls to reach an area that doesn't have a carpet cleaner within 20miles, its ripe for explotation

I travel about 1.5 miles to go to Malin Bridge and another mile to Wadsley Bridge but they are all free to cross (or drive through) as they are part of the road system and have become place names as Sheffield is set on 7 major hills and many more minor ones every bottom of the hill has a bridge.

I did a job in North Shields last week had to leave the house at 7.30 to get there for 9 given the tunnel traffic, did one yesterday left 8.45 still there for 9. Downside tunnel toll going up to £1.50 to cover the cost of the new tunnel

I've often thought they should have a one way tunnel to Scotland, seeing as the Jock's couldn't take a hint when the Romans built Hadrians Wall... ;D

Only joking, I love the Scots..... :)

When they opened up the final stretch of the M60 orbital motorway, covering the eastern sector around manchester, the change in traffic patterns was amazing to see. Whilst it does give far greater access and made it far easier/faster to get to certain areas of Greater Manchester I've never had to "exploit" it as I only bothered to advertise in YP which already covered the area. I can't say I got a significant amount more of work.
