Commencing Countdown, Engines On
« on: November 09, 2005, 09:18:15 pm »
Sooo. The last step on the road to WFP has been taken. Got my pump from Amazon delivered. 10 25ltr containers full up ready to go in the morning. This site is 100% responsible for thw 2 grand i've put on the plastic. Now it's time to make (Andrew's freedom trolley) start paying me back. After a dozen or so minor problems, all overcome. I'm inviting you ALL to tell me what to expect tomorrow. I know i'm gonna be slow and my shoulders aint gonna belong to me........so now.......it's over to you.  ;D

You are gonna think you wasted your money for maybe a week or 2!!!  Stick at it and all will be OK, do not get demoralised and ignore customers moaning, they will come round to your way of thinking in the end.

And you'll find you won't have sore shoulders, your neck will be too painfulfor you to notice the shoulders!!

Oh those kind(but probably realistic)words of comfort will undoubtidly make me sleep well lol. Na it's ok. I wanna hear it as it is. I done some of my own windows yesterday. PVC worked a treat. Old wooden framed kitchen window..Now thats a different story. But I picked up on here along the way that dodgy, crusty wooden frames are the exeption, not the rule. I do a "village" full of leaded maisonettes once a month. I am lookin forward to cutting the time i spend there in half. I know it'll all come together. Also gonna start using the DI'd water for trad too. Can't wait to see the difference that makes  ;)

The leaded will seem like cheating, just remember to rinse well the first couple of times.

yeh i'm cool with that morph. Been a member here for about 2 months. Funny thing is,before i joined,i'd only heard rumours of these men in black with poley thingys. You people kicked I disagree into gear and taught me to wake up 'n' smell the coffee. I'd of been trad forever and a day without the forum. Now my mates and relatives(shiners) are knockin at my door wanting to come out with me and show them the ropes. And i aint even wfp'd for a day yet.
The whole system can't fail to impress. Looks soo neat.

Dino,

You started on November the 9th.  It'll be December the 9th (ish) when you do your second WFP cleans that you'll notice the difference.

The first time round, take your time and get it right.  Spend at least as much time as you would if you were cleaning with a ladder; maybe more.

Pay particular attention to the top frame and remember, the second time round you've no more scubbing the frames like a lunatic, the glass is easy.

On the second clean, once round the frames, up and down on the glass, a good rinse and off to the next window.

As quick as that.

Hi Dino

You are about to go through a sharp learning curve and often you will think  you have wasted your money.

Possibly you will think wfp is rubbish and just how do others seems to use them so well.

Also, to start with you will get very wet and very frustrated.

We're 2 months into using wfp and today we done roughly 50% more work than previously.

We also did the outsides of a large pub and carvery (48 very large paines) for the first time with wfp because living and working on the south coast, and after some severe storms, the windows were half inch thick with salt.

Ok - so I exagerate.. they looked like frosted glass.

Salt with traditional methods is a nightmare. It leaves milky white smears that only appear 10 minutes later but today with wfp - I was stunned at the results.

Stick with it mate. It's worth it.

Cheers
