Cleaning Speed Standards Etc.
« on: January 19, 2004, 08:02:51 pm »
Carpet cleaners tend to price x amount per square foot.

The actual amount varies acording to cleaner and time although the base of the calculation is not always taken into account more market coditions.

However if I was supplying cleaners for domestic houes would I price bt the hour as people work at different speeds

What would be expected if the job was a standard three bed house through lounge about 11 X25 for example

Ie what tasks would  be a standard clean for this type of house  to what standard and how long.

Regards

Ian

I always price domestics by the hour, on a weekly basis for a standard tidy three bed ( no clutter or teenagers and babies, no dogs or cats) Two fit cleaner for 1.5 hours (3 man hours).

Thats about the time I had in mind.

Would this include cleaning inside windows?

Bath?

Loo

Dusting Lampshades

Washing  Doors

Wiping Handles

Complete Dyson

Dusting Shelves

Changing Sheets

Ie how far would you go  in a standard clean

No sheets, or internal window, these like cookers and inside cupboards ( kitchen) are extra's.
But it does include the rest, skirtings, paint work showers, shelves ect
But at times a bit of flexibility does come into it

Petra,

Thanks,

Trying to pursade Jenny to set up Domestic Cleaning Division.

Although houghly rate is not as good as carpet cleaning,

the annual spend per customer is higher.

Do you supply your cleaning teams with a vehicle or are the just paid a flat hourly rate.

I pay £5 per hour, and those that drive their own vehicle's I pay millage, but also advise them that they need to add class one bussiness use to their insurance, this raley costs ( but if it does it is only a small amount and I pay that for them).
