Cleaning up blood
« on: September 28, 2011, 03:55:25 pm »
Quite apart from the standard bio hazard precautions, does anyone have a recommendation for getting blood out of fabric ( in this case, a berber type fabric sofa) and off emulsion painted walls, i believe prochem do a blood stain removal chemical, any good ?

thanks for any product advice in advance

Blood is treated as a protein stain and depending on the carpet pre tests I use enzall usually but this would be better asked on the carpet side

Hi

For the fabric use a diluted Bio persil liquid in a spray bottle, blot out with kitchen towel or terry towel, persil was designed for this purpose and it is fantastic in getting out all blood.

For the wall, spray on and treat the stain, but as this is now a chemical reaction all you can do is paint over it.

Use PPE

Enzall will work best if mixed and allowed to cool.

Hi

With blood you have to go in with cold water, as it is a protein it will set underhot conditions (think eggs in a frying pan)

hi

the prochem product is stain pro it comes ready to use, apply and blot with a clean terry towel repeat this process until its gone, that should do it. if it is a really bad stain then use stain pro as i have mentioned and then apply rust remover wait 5 minutes, rinse thoroughly with water and blot until dry.

I sell both but would go with the enzall.

The rust remover is a handy tip I forgot though.
