I converted a 3 metre length of soil pipe from the local builders merchants, complete with 2 end caps, cut a slot for the neck. Then down to Halfords to get the mounting clamps for the roof rack. Sorted.

Duke, glue some cushion foam or a sponge to the inside of the end cap, then put a circular piece of ply behind that and this will decelerate the pole when you brake hard and your pole shouldn't go through the end.

And win a Blue Peter badge! ;)
It's a game of three halves!

It really isn't a problem, pole's just fine...up and down the M5...round all the twisty bends around Gloucestershire at warp 6.....

I bought mine from Cleantech. It comes with a latch on it so you can paddlock up at the end of the day.

No the brush head stays on.
You just cut a slot for the gooseneck to slide into.

Don't know about poles without goosenecks as i dont have any of these.
