Pressure washer engine help?
« on: September 28, 2005, 04:29:27 pm »
Hi Guys..wonder if anyone with  techno savvy can help?

My pressure washer is with a honda engine,it works fine..no probs good job etc..however the pressure pump is leaking some oil.again not really a problem..its negligible the loss, however ive noticed the oil has changed from the usual black colour to a horrible creamy colour...

The engine oil is fine..so no contamination there.....i just wonder if anyone has a clue why this is happening?

Is it a Karcher by any chance?
As mine does this when its in need of a new internal seal.
But if I am really busy and cant afford time out for the machine I just drain it and refill with new oil daily.
Its just a bit of water mixing with the oil and makes it a milky colour.

Hi preston

Its not a Karcher..a copy tho with a cloned Honda engine.
An internal seal sounds about right..obviously waters getting in..i will drain before Monday.

Thanks for your help.

No problem, just keep on top of the oil, but it will only cost 30 quid to get it sorted.
I have mine serviced quite regular so when this happens I get it serviced.

Hi

Oil going creamy white is usually a sign that water has mixed with the oil.  This means the pump seals are starting to wear out - it will gradually get worse.

Most pumps are easy to reseal DIY - has it got a mkers l;abel on?
