Another great thing about the Varistream is that you maintain pressure at low flow rates so you still get a decent jet for that all important rinsing. ( Seen posts to say rinsing isnt needed.. tried it on my place a few times.. yes it is needed)

A little off topic, sorry!
Andrew,
It is a slight misnomer to say that rinsing isn't needed, you still rinse, you are simply resting the tips of the bristles on the glass.
Don't forget, it is a continuous rinsing process all the time with WFP.
From what you are saying, you use the needle jet in your brush, I use the fan type jet, this gives a full spread of water over the full width of the brush head, and it does make rinsing easier, but it doesn't make a lot of difference, it really depends on your technique.
Back on topic now!
My own pump is the 60 psi Shurflo. I've been using it for over 18 months, I continually stop my flow by kinking my pole hose (painful if you're not used to it
)
At times the pump stutters like Arkwright in Open All Hours.
Not a problem in all that time.
Why?
Well my setup is from Peter Fogwill at Broxburn Cleaning Products, and Peter sets up his pump box with a flow restrictor lever, as you restrict the flow the pump is plumbed up so the the water is recycled continuously.
Works a treat
I can have my water either blasting out or at a trickle, I can kink my hose, tie knots in it (I do this when I am changing a barrell or having to negociate something awkward and I'm to far from the car to turn off the pump, or when I need to clean a door trad style and so on.)
But the variflo sound a top piece of kit, and certainly does the job of protecting your pump!

Ian
